ABOUT THE SERIES

The Story

It all began with a forgotten video—a fleeting glimpse of Ukrainian landscapes captured through the car window during a road trip with friends.

At first, it seemed like just another casual memory tucked away on my phone. But years later, amidst the uncertainties of migration and my ongoing search for a sense of belonging, rediscovering this simple footage sparked something profound within me.

I create abstract landscapes within my imagination, and these places, although they don’t exist in reality, become a safe space where I feel like home.

The Process

Creating these artworks is like reconstructing a dream.

I use digital apps to intentionally fragment, loop, and distort video frames, transforming them into echoes of my inner world.

I print selected frames onto paper, carefully cutting out shapes by hand. These paper fragments are then transferred onto canvas layer by layer, forming abstract landscapes that exist somewhere between reality and imagination.

To complete the artwork, I use acrylic paints applied by hand, creating intricate pixel-like patterns that blur the line between digital and physical, virtual and real, imagined and tangible, adding depth and emotion to each piece.

Warm, glowing hues of soft pink, golden yellow, and rich orange guide my palette, reminiscent of gentle sunsets—those rare, tranquil moments when everything feels peaceful and safe. The textures of paper and handmade techniques add a tactile depth, creating visual harmony and calm.

I hope my work inspires you to pause and explore your own inner landscapes. When the colors and textures resonate with you, the canvas transforms into a mirror—not of the external world, but of your own soul.

The safe haven we all seek isn’t somewhere out there; it already exists within each of us.
