When the light melted away,
we all saw, the sun was gone.
A strong, dark, raw past shrouded in shadow.
They heard the roar of an angry sea.
No land in sight. Just ocean spray and wind.
North upon the horizon. The mad crest of waves,
blotting out the light, just before it dips below
and becomes black dark in the shade.
The light didn’t end. It just winked out.
